"Rose of Hope" Care Centre, Good Hope Informal Settlement, Dellville, Germiston.

<>For some time we assisted with the renovation of the building by supplying goods and materials.  However o<>ne of their most urgent and serious needs was the provision of healthy and safe toilet facilities for the children.
<>

There was no municipal sewerage system in the vicinity, and apart from the old  cumbersome and dangerous "long drop" open toilet, they had a small chemical toilet which needed to be emptied frequently, both inadequate for the present number of children they were presently looking after.

Pastor Shadrack wanted three permanent toilets to be built using bricks and mortar, with ceramic toilet bowls and wash hand basins, and approach the Rotary Club of Johanneburg East to provide these facilties.

Thanks to our generous sponsors, both local and international, as well as the hard work of club members, today Pastor Shadrack has the three toilets he wanted, based on the septic tank principle, which adequately caters for his little charges' toilet needs.
